Snow Days

Snow in Seattle is a rarity. More than a foot of snow that sticks around for days was practically unheard of, until now. Warm drinks, comfort cooking and long walks in the snow made for a wonderful relaxing week before the holidays.

We went to our birth class reunion this last weekend and watched this pile of babies roll all over eachother. Adorable!

Tour of the Greats 2008

Solène went on her first cross-continental adventure. First stop: Pennsyltucky to visit Nan the Great and the rest of the Curren clan. Next we went to Florida to see Great Popeye, Nona, the Gpas, uncles, auntie Christina and her cousin friends Nya and Iylah. Upon return to Seattle, Sola was paid a visit by her Great Grandma Courtenay. I am sure that her Nana Giselle was with us in spirit. What a lucky girl she is to have such a rich heritage of beautiful strong women.

Four Weddings and a Birth

Tummy time is not exactly at the top of the list for Sola, but the closer she gets to mastering the headlift the more she tolerates it. She almost seems to be enjoying herself here. On the way back we stopped by one of our favorite spots east of the Gorge- Dusty Lake. It is a mineral lake and also a tropical oasis in the middle of the desert. Sola slept almost the whole way through it. This is her favorite thing to do when we take her on exciting adventures. She then wakes up when it's time to get back in the car, which is, by far, Sola's least preferred activity

Well, we made it to the fourth and final wedding of the summer- Sola is a seasoned veteran now.

West Wind Return

Oh the mighty West Wind. Last week we made the pilgrimage to this sacred land of engagement, wedding , and pregnancy revelations. It was our second anniversary so we thought it fitting to bring Sola there in flesh. Last time we were there Sola was the size of a grain of sand and now she is 11 lbs! Still a lite load on our hike up engagement bluff and down to beach.
