Solène on Safari

We took a girls day adventure to the Olympic Game Farm- what a strange place. Sola was not too sure what to think of all of the huge wet snouts making their way in through the window to get at the "FDA recommended" bread we bought for the animals. She seemed curious enough and even reached out her hands to pet a yak, but inevitably one of the adults would squeal and she would lose confidence. Note the traumatized face (on Sola, that is) above.

Sola and Friends

We have formed a playgroup with a few of the moms from our birth class and a drop-in parenting group we attended. Once a week we meet at one of our houses and watch the babes roll around and share each others toys and by share I mean slobber. It is wonderful to watch all of these beautiful children grow and to share the adventures of motherhood with such a lovely group of women.

Crawling. Sort of.

It's not the smoothest of movements, but she is definitely mobile. Our lives have changed, again.

Baby Globe Trotter

Solène was our ticket to Europe. She had tons of family that couldn't wait to meet her, so off we went to Paris and Barcelona. It was my first time in France at the same time as my mom in longer than I can remember and it was super special to have the four generations united in Paris.
Comme la vie est belle.

The family gave Solène so much attention that I am worried she might go through withdrawls now that we are back.

My grandmother sat in this position for hours so that Sola would stay asleep.
Solène's great great aunt

This picture does not convey half of the shenanigans that these ladies went through to keep this little girl smiling. Songs, rhymes and hand clapping were in abundance.

Silly Sola

The 6 and 7 month-old version of our little lady came and went in a flash. She is just as much of a joy to watch as ever. Take a look...

Here is Sola and her boyfriend Oliver. He is so sweet with her and tolerant of her hair, nose, eye and ear pulling and honestly I don't think he minds the "movie" kisses one bit.

This image comes with a sound effect similar to a squealing monkey. Sola pulls herself up in her crib and is quite proud of herself for it.

I think that Ikea should pay for Solène's college in exchange for these photos.
